Amazon.co.uk is an online store launched in 1998 and owned by Amazon.com, Inc.
The homepage showcases the newest and bestselling products, as well as the top products in several different categories. The homepage also features links to shops by brand, a list of shopping departments, information about current promotions, and links to gift certificates and gift and wish lists. For convenience, the site also maintains a list of recently viewed products at the bottom of the page.
Clicking a category displays a list of subcategories, and links to products by brand. Clicking a subcategory displays a list of products, along with price and shipping information. Visitors are automatically shown the new item price but they can click the ‘Used & New’ link to view used items for sale by Amazon members.
The ‘Add to Wish List’ link lets members add their favorite items to a personalized wish list that can be shared with friend and family. Members can also create a wedding list or registry that can be used to show guests a list of desired wedding gifts.
The ‘Amazon Services’ section displays links to the mobile version of the site and the Amazon Currency Converter, as well as links to information about buying and selling and the site, volume selling, the company’s affiliate program, advertising on the site, and more.
Visitors can create an account to view personalized recommendations, post item reviews, and buy or sell products.
